As an associate marriage and family therapist in the state of California, I bring a comprehensive approach to mental health care with a focus on individualized treatment. My clinical journey began with a deep commitment to substance use disorder treatment, where I have amassed 5 years of experience. This foundation has equipped me with the skills to support individuals dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship problems, and attachment injuries.
My passion lies in helping those struggling with substance use disorders. I have dedicated three years to working with low-income, criminal justice-involved populations, including individuals who have been incarcerated. This experience has underscored the importance of understanding the complex interplay between socioeconomic background, ethnic background, and societal structures on mental health.
I employ a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These include a non-judgmental, client-centered approach, mindfulness-based stress reduction, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. My practice is grounded in genuine empathetic care and building strong rapport with my clients.
While I acknowledge the role of diagnostic criteria in Western medicine, I prioritize exploring the root causes of mental health issues. This includes examining relational, attachment, and societal factors that contribute to my clients' challenges. My goal is to provide holistic and compassionate care that addresses the deeper implications of their mental health concerns.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona, earned in 2020, and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of La Verne. This educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of therapy.
As a therapist specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I am passionate about guiding individuals and families through the process of self-discovery and growth. With a focus on trauma, I work with teens, families, and couples to help them understand and integrate their internal experiences, fostering connection and resilience.
My approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, creating a safe space for clients to delve into their inner landscapes and uncover the emotions and beliefs that shape their lives. I believe that by understanding the different parts of ourselves, we can navigate challenges more effectively and cultivate healthier relationships.
I have significant experience working with adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as couples and families seeking to improve communication and strengthen bonds. Together, we’ll work to identify patterns, build self-awareness, and develop tools for lasting change.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy traveling with my family, playing with my toddler and our French bulldog, savoring a cup of coffee, and practicing yoga. Let’s work together to uncover the strength within you on the path towards healing and self-discovery.
Hello and welcome!
I’m so glad you are here. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is dedicated to helping you become your best self. My focus is to create a safe space for collaboration, reflection, and personal growth and skill development to meet daily life challenges. Everyone struggles at one point or another on their life journey. We all experience loss and grief and face difficulties within our social, family, and work relationships. We or our loved ones may struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, divorce, or trauma. We can be overwhelmed by a major life change like retirement, marriage, graduation, or becoming empty nesters. You are not alone.
I have worked with all age groups, individuals, couples, and families around life issues
including depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, self-esteem, parenting, anger
management, relationship issues, fears, trauma, grief/loss, military families, personal
growth, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and life stage
transitions.
My empathetic and nonjudgemental approach is client centered—I meet my clients
where they are and create a safe environment for growth and healing. I consider myself
an eclectic therapist and utilize the following evidence-based therapeutic modalities
including: Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy and parts work, Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic-Based therapy, Solution-focused Therapy,
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths Based
interventions, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Each intervention
allows individuals to explore different coping strategies. Working together, we explore
ways to help struggling adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children find new
solutions to life’s challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
I have earned a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Touro Worldwide University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Education from Concordia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sport Science from Concordia
University. My work experience includes 10+ years in business, 15+ years in education
and residential recovery programs facilitating process, educational, and family groups.
For fun, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and three labradors, camping,
sailing, art, and traveling.
