Hello and welcome!
Navigating life as an immigrant or the child of immigrants comes with unique
challenges—balancing cultural expectations, bridging generational gaps, and finding a sense of
belonging. If you’re struggling with early childhood trauma, family conflict, or relationship
challenges—especially with parents or partners from different cultural backgrounds—you’re
not alone. Many of my clients feel torn between cultures, trying to meet family expectations
while also forging their own path. Others carry past trauma that continues to shape their selfworth and relationships. No matter what you’re facing, healing is possible.
Therapy is a space of warmth, compassion, honesty, and respect. I work collaboratively with
you, not just as a therapist, but as a guide and partner on your journey toward growth.
Together, we’ll uncover patterns, explore new perspectives, and find the clarity and confidence
you need to move forward. My approach integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing), a powerful, evidence-based mind-body therapy for processing trauma—for
example, helping someone haunted by a childhood memory finally feel at peace. I also
incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you develop mindfulness,
connect with your emotions, and live a life driven by what truly matters to you, like freeing a
first-gen professional from "achievement guilt." Finally, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy
(DBT) to help you build practical behavioral techniques for emotional regulation and distress
tolerance, so you can navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience.
I am a Registered Associate Social Worker (ASW 100767) in California, holding a doctorate and
master's degree in social work from the University at Albany, State University of New York. My
research and teaching have focused on mental health in Asian American and Hispanic
immigrant communities, giving me a deep understanding of the cultural and systemic factors
that shape well-being. As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Mandarin, I provide a
culturally sensitive space for clients who may face language barriers in therapy.
Seeking therapy is an act of courage, and you don’t have to go through this alone. Whether
you're working through past trauma, relationship struggles, or feelings of isolation, I am
committed to helping you heal, grow, and reconnect with what matters most. I accept CIGNA, Blue Cross of California, Aetna, and Anthem insurance. Let’s take the next step
together—call (909) 850 4676 to schedule a consultation or ask any questions.
