Who I Work With

My Approach
I believe therapy is a partnership where healing and growth unfold at your pace. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build coping strategies, and discover new ways to move forward with resilience and clarity. I also integrate my background in performance psychology and wellness coaching, taking a holistic view of mind, body, and values so that change feels both meaningful and sustainable.
About Me:
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master's in Performance Psychology, and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University. With more than 18 years of experience in behavioral and health psychology, I bring both professional knowledge and genuine care to my work. Outside of therapy, I enjoy music, spending time with family/friends, fitness, and creative routines that help me recharge and stay grounded. No matter where you are on your journey, I would be honored to support you as you take steps toward greater balance, self-discovery, and well-being.
Hello. I am Ralph. Welcome to the Center of Resiliency. I am excited to begin this journey with you. As a compassionate and client-centered therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges that can feel overwhelming or discouraging. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and acute mental health conditions. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, with a strong emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These modalities allow me to help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, develop practical coping skills, and build long-term resilience.
Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and straightforward. I work intentionally to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences openly. At the same time, I offer structured guidance and practical tools tailored to your goals, ensuring that therapy leads to meaningful and lasting progress. Whether you're managing long-standing emotional pain, coping with acute stress, or seeking stability in the midst of life changes, my goal is to walk alongside you with empathy, encouragement, and evidence-based support. Together, we will work to build resilience, restore balance, and move toward a healthier and more grounded version of yourself.
I earned my Master of Arts in Forensic and Counseling Psychology in 2010 from Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area. My academic background provided a solid foundation in understanding complex behavioral patterns, trauma impacts, and the intersections between mental health, personal history, and daily functioning. This training helps me approach each client with insight, structure, and compassion. In addition to my vocation, I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and spending time in Monterey with my family. I am also a foodie who loves to experience all international foods and look for good (and perhaps “undiscovered” restaurants weekly. I am honored to support you as you begin this important journey of healing and growth.
