Hello. I am Ralph. Welcome to the Center of Resiliency. I am excited to begin this journey with you. As a compassionate and client-centered therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges that can feel overwhelming or discouraging. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and acute mental health conditions. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, with a strong emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These modalities allow me to help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, develop practical coping skills, and build long-term resilience.
Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and straightforward. I work intentionally to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences openly. At the same time, I offer structured guidance and practical tools tailored to your goals, ensuring that therapy leads to meaningful and lasting progress. Whether you're managing long-standing emotional pain, coping with acute stress, or seeking stability in the midst of life changes, my goal is to walk alongside you with empathy, encouragement, and evidence-based support. Together, we will work to build resilience, restore balance, and move toward a healthier and more grounded version of yourself.
I earned my Master of Arts in Forensic and Counseling Psychology in 2010 from Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area. My academic background provided a solid foundation in understanding complex behavioral patterns, trauma impacts, and the intersections between mental health, personal history, and daily functioning. This training helps me approach each client with insight, structure, and compassion. In addition to my vocation, I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and spending time in Monterey with my family. I am also a foodie who loves to experience all international foods and look for good (and perhaps “undiscovered” restaurants weekly. I am honored to support you as you begin this important journey of healing and growth.
Hi, I'm Rick McCaster III - Welcome to The Center of Resiliency.
Reaching out for support takes courage, especially when you’ve been carrying stress, trauma, or emotional pain on your own. My goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. A place where you can be real without judgment. I work alongside my clients with honesty, compassion, and practical guidance to help them regain clarity, confidence, and emotional stability.
I specialize in working with youth, young adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, behavioral challenges, substance use, and relationship difficulties. With more than 20 years of experience supporting youth and families, I understand how overwhelming life can feel when trust is broken, emotions feel out of control, or communication breaks down. Together, we focus on helping you understand yourself more deeply, strengthen your relationships, and build the skills needed to move forward in a healthier and more
empowered way.
My approach is collaborative, direct, and results-focused. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you identify patterns, shift unhelpful thinking, and develop tools you can use in your everyday life. Therapy with me is not just about talking, it’s about creating meaningful change.
I am passionate about serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and understand the cultural, family, and community pressures that shape our experiences. Growing up in Compton, California gave me a firsthand understanding of resilience, adversity, and perseverance. That lived experience allows me to connect authentically with clients and meet you where you are.
Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for growth, therapy can help you move forward. You do not have to figure it out alone.
