As an associate marriage and family therapist in the state of California, I bring a comprehensive approach to mental health care with a focus on individualized treatment. My clinical journey began with a deep commitment to substance use disorder treatment, where I have amassed 5 years of experience. This foundation has equipped me with the skills to support individuals dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship problems, and attachment injuries.
My passion lies in helping those struggling with substance use disorders. I have dedicated three years to working with low-income, criminal justice-involved populations, including individuals who have been incarcerated. This experience has underscored the importance of understanding the complex interplay between socioeconomic background, ethnic background, and societal structures on mental health.
I employ a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These include a non-judgmental, client-centered approach, mindfulness-based stress reduction, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. My practice is grounded in genuine empathetic care and building strong rapport with my clients.
While I acknowledge the role of diagnostic criteria in Western medicine, I prioritize exploring the root causes of mental health issues. This includes examining relational, attachment, and societal factors that contribute to my clients' challenges. My goal is to provide holistic and compassionate care that addresses the deeper implications of their mental health concerns.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona, earned in 2020, and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of La Verne. This educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of therapy.
Hello! I’m Ashly Brown!
I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a deep commitment to helping indivioksduals navigate their unique journeys towards healing and growth. With years of experience in the field, I offer a supportive and empathetic environment where you can explore your challenges and achieve your goals. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I tailor my approach to fit your individual needs and goals, using evidence-based practices combined with an understanding of your personal experiences. I’m here to support you through every step of your journey.
I view each person as a whole, considering the various aspects of your life and how they interact. This holistic perspective allows us to address not just symptoms but also underlying issues, fostering deeper and more lasting change. As your therapist, I work alongside you, respecting your autonomy and involving you actively in your treatment plan. Together, we will explore and implement strategies that resonate with you and align with your values.
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and finding the right fit is crucial. My background includes working with adolescents, teen moms and young adults. I have experience conducting individual sessions and group therapy in clinical, school, and family shelter settings. My focused modalities are solution focused, cognitive/ dialectical behavior therapy and motivational interviewing. My education includes bachelors in Sociology, masters in Social Work and Criminal Justice.
I am a head coach for High School Track & Field. On my free time I love to spend time with family, travel and attend church.
As a therapist specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I am passionate about guiding individuals and families through the process of self-discovery and growth. With a focus on trauma, I work with teens, families, and couples to help them understand and integrate their internal experiences, fostering connection and resilience.
My approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, creating a safe space for clients to delve into their inner landscapes and uncover the emotions and beliefs that shape their lives. I believe that by understanding the different parts of ourselves, we can navigate challenges more effectively and cultivate healthier relationships.
I have significant experience working with adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as couples and families seeking to improve communication and strengthen bonds. Together, we’ll work to identify patterns, build self-awareness, and develop tools for lasting change.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy traveling with my family, playing with my toddler and our French bulldog, savoring a cup of coffee, and practicing yoga. Let’s work together to uncover the strength within you on the path towards healing and self-discovery.
