My passion is to help individuals heal from trauma.
By creating an open, safe, collaborative, engaging, and supportive environment the process of healing from trauma can begin.
I specialize in working with teens and adults from all walks of life. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, stress and anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders.
During my work experience, I utilize an array of therapeutic interventions stemming from evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy, while maintaining a culturally responsive, client-centered approach.
About me: I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Health Administration, and I recently completed a Master’s degree in Social Work with a trauma certificate. My previous work experience included teaching and mentoring intellectually and emotionally challenged individuals with disabilities.
When I am not working with clients, I enjoy and participate in all things outdoors. I enjoy mountain hiking, biking, running, rock climbing, kayaking, and downhill skiing for sports.
I believe that engaging in health and wellness while practicing self-care empowers individuals providing guiding direction towards learning, skillset development, and presents opportunity for the initial change process to occur.
I would be glad and honored to welcome you, to assist you on your path toward self-discovery, growth, learning, healing, and recovery.
Hi, my name is Hae Lynn Kwon. I go by Haelynn. I’m a Korean-American first generation. As someone who understands and experiences the stigma that our own personal cultures may have, I believe that it takes power and strength to overcome the barriers that we as humans face regarding our mental health.
I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative therapy and have a person-centered approach for each individual person that I get to meet and work with. When working with couples or families, I work with members to identify the family system and the relationships that impact the ability to communicate with each other. I believe that every individual person, despite our pasts, have the resilience to make impactful changes to make life more full. I have two years of experience working with a diverse population including people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Some things about me, I have experience working with children on the spectrum my biggest takeaway was learning how to support families with their goals. Prior to working with children I also worked teaching and counseling to help my students meet their educational goals. I received my bachelor’s degree in political science and my master degree in counseling psychology with emphasis on marriage and family therapy.
I was born here in the US, growing up in Florida before moving here to California. I speak Korean, and English and my favorite foods are anything with kimchi and any traditional homemade dishes. I enjoy cooking, finding new places to explore, and spending time with my family and friends. I love going out with my two dogs and going to the beach!
Hi, my name is Melissa Strickland. Welcome to The Center of Resiliency Therapy & Counseling. Thank you for taking the first step toward healing. There are so many challenges, obstacles, and trauma in our lives that it can be overwhelming at times. You don’t have to go it alone, that is why I am here to listen and help you with tools to overcome/cope these challenges. I will be here to support and help you through any difficulties in your life. The journey can be tough at times, but we will push through it together.
I was born and raised in San Francisco California and currently reside in Lassen County, California. Most people don’t know where that is, so if I say where the Dixie fires were several years back, that is where I am at. I have a degree in Psychology from Ashworth University, an MSW from Walden University, a Computer Science degree from University of San Francisco, certification in domestic violence and suicide prevention with the state of California, undergrad is in law, and a Civil litigation paralegal certificate in criminal law. I have been a therapist for over 6 years.
My expertise is in relationships, working with children, families, individuals, anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, self-esteem, body image, group therapy, the prison system, mentally challenged offenders, PTSD, depression, Domestic violence, LGBTQ community, culturally competent, human trafficking, and abuse. When I first began in my field, I primarily worked with offenders, human trafficking, and domestic violence. I then branched out to different fields.
I am divorced and have a grown son. I currently live with my 94-year-old father in the mountains. We lost mom over 12 years ago and he won’t leave the home they built together. I am so blessed to have everyone I love so much in my life. I can relate to the loss of loved ones. I learned to take each day at a time and be thankful for what I have. Granted I want to be selfish and ask to have my mom come back, but alas, I have to face the fact that it isn’t going to happen.
This is me in a nutshell. Thank you Melissa 😊

Hi there, my name is Dani Reisbaum. I know that seeking support can be a challenging and confusing process. I am here to meet you where you are at, with care and compassion.
I offer an open, non-judgemental space where you can speak honestly about your thoughts and experiences while skills building and working towards your personal goals. I often incorporate mindfulness and somatic (body-focused) exercises in therapy, as I have seen the way those practices aid in regulating emotions, fostering a sense of safety in the nervous system, and releasing stress (and trauma) held in the body.
As a queer, trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I enjoy working together to deconstruct the social scripts, pressures and ‘shoulds’ that often get in the way of growth, healing and liberation.
Then comes the fun and challenging part of self-discovery, curiosity and imagination - to explore what you value, what excites you and drives you. We will work together to highlight the ways you are already showing up for yourself while identifying what thoughts, behaviors and environments are no longer serving you. We will build up your skills, confidence and self-compassion so that you can move through your day to day life with intention.
Some areas that I am especially passionate about working with are anxiety, life-transitions, self-esteem, gender identity, sexuality, relationships, ENM/CNM, existential questioning, sexual trauma and chronic pain. I work with individuals (12+) as well as couples/partners.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, meaning that I cater it to your unique history, values, goals and preferences. Some styles of therapy I tend to incorporate are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Therapy, Emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Strength-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Problem Solving therapy.
About me: I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I enjoy spending quality time with friends, watching movies, swimming, dancing and playing music.
