Hello and Welcome

I am Gamalia, but most people call me Mila.

I believe in meeting individuals where they are by being genuine, compassionate, empathic, and providing a nonjudgmental space where clients feel free to be themselves, express themselves and discover all that they are. I aspire to support and empower individuals throughout their mental health journey. 

I have work with all populations and identities including those who identify as  LGBTQ+, people of color, youth, and young adults. I provide support with a variety of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem development, family conflicts, stress, trauma, and substance abuse issues. 

My approach to therapy is to utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focus Therapy tailored to your specific needs. 

 I have a background in community mental health therapy supporting underserved communities, children, and families. I obtained my Associate's Degree in the State of Alabama, Bachelor’s in Sociology from Texas Tech University, and Master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix and Education Counseling with Pupil Personnel Services Credential from National University.

About me: I am a California native. I enjoy riding my Harley, crafting, watching college football (I’m an Alabama fan “roll tide”), being with my family and friends.
