Hi! My name is Jackie! I believe that therapy can be an invaluable tool as you strive to become the happiest and healthiest version of yourself. Behavioral health and helping others grow is my passion.
My role is to offer you a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your past so that decisions and efforts in the present can lead to the future you strive to make a reality. I love to remind my clients that change begins with one small effort. As your therapist, I would love to be the support you need to begin making those small steps in the right direction which eventually lead to leaps and bounds of progress.
My Approach: My preferred approach is Narrative Therapy. This is a form of therapy that allows for the client to share their life story. We will work together to deconstruct your experiences, externalize the problem at hand, work to problem solve together and make a plan for future growth. With this approach, I believe you are the main character of your story and remind you of the power you hold to be the hero of your story.
I have extensive experience working with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, transitional life events, familial disfunction, self-esteem issues and emotional regulation. I have spent three years working in the IOP setting as well as have spent nearly two years working with the elderly in the retirement and memory care settings. I have acted as a group and individual client therapist in these roles. Searching for help requires so much strength which I will welcome with a caring, open, and comfortable environment. I will be there with you every step of the way to support you in any way I can.
I strongly believe that where there is a will there's a way! If someone desires to make changes in their life and is willing to work towards it, they will achieve it. My goal is to work alongside you as we collaborate in understanding the obstacles in your life and the best ways to help you get closer to the life you desire.
I am looking forward to us making life more manageable, seeing where this journey takes us, and getting to do life together.
